THE Sea Watch Foundation are calling for help in tracking the UK’s whale population during a nine-day audit.
The charity, which works to to improve the conservation and protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises in UK and Irish waters. holds the event every year to get a snapshot of populations.
The 16th annual count needs as many eyes on the sea as possible.
The charity said: “Anyone can get involved; all you need is one of our observation packs, a nice place to look out over the sea, and your eyes – although binoculars are very helpful. You can do this on land or boat, with as many people as you like, and as many times as you like at any point during our 9-day period.”
The count begins on July 28.
